When this is fully funded, we will move on the help with funds for Bicycle Safety and Art programs for kids!
update. The driver who hit and killed Michael was arrested 2 1/2 weeks after he left Michael on the side of the road. He spent 5 days in jail. He was released and made a 2 year Bail Bond. On February 19, 2015 is the next court date. Because of the current laws, there is no extra punishment for leaving the scene of a crime when there is a hit & run. It is way past due on changing these laws.

The vɘөʌ Familia
In February, The driver pled guilty to 2 felonies. On April 17, he was sentenced to 7 years. Because of the laws in California, he may be out in 3 1/2 yrs!!! YES, 3 1/2 years for recklessly killing a BRIGHT, BEAUTIFUL, FULL OF LIFE & DREAMS YOUNG MAN!!! The court allowed us to play the 10 minute video of Michael Ray’s life and read a 7 page Victims Statement. He never said one word. When it was all over, he stood up and put his hands behind his back. He was cuffed and taken away..
We advocate to change these laws.
